FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Commercial Motor Vehicle Blitz In Brantford & Brant County In keeping with the MTOA commitment to promote Ontario's Transportation Officers to the public, we are pleased to announce MTO Kitchener Region completed its latest commercial motor vehicle truck blitz with our partners in road safety including Ontario Provincial Police, Brantford City Police, Guelph Police Service and Six Nation Police Service. Officers from the Kitchener Region MTO Enforcement office with our partners in road safety inspected a total of 97 commercial motor vehicles and removed 29 of these vehicles from the road, as a result of various mechanical defects and safety violations. These numbers indicate that 30 per cent of the vehicles inspected were unsafe. In addition, 4 sets of plates were seized and 21 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for various commercial motor vehicle violations under the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act, including a 12 hour suspension, missing wheel fasteners, insecure loads, failing to produce inspection reports and various other documentation and equipment violations.
