FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Commercial Motor Vehicle Blitz In Chatham In keeping with the MTOA commitment to promote Ontario's Transportation Officers to the public, we are pleased to announce MTO Windsor Region completed its latest commercial motor vehicle truck blitz in partnership with the Windsor and Chatham Police on September 07, 2006, in Chatham. Officers from the Windsor Region MTO Enforcement office in partnership with Windsor and Chatham Police, inspected a total of 40 commercial motor vehicles and removed 18 of these vehicles from the road as a result of various mechanical defects and safety violations. These numbers indicate that 45 per cent of the trucks inspected were unsafe. In addition, 38 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for various commercial motor vehicle violations under the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act, including insecure loads, driver qualifications, failing to produce inspection reports and various other documentation and equipment violations.
