Commercial Motor Vehicle Blitz In Whitchurch Stouffville

In keeping with our (MTOA) commitment to promote Ontario's Transportation Officers to  the public, we are pleased to announce MTO York Region completed its latest commercial motor vehicle truck blitz in partnership with the York Region Police on Wednesday, August 09, 2006, in the Town of Whitchurch Stouffville. Officers from the York Region MTO Enforcement office in partnership with York Region Police, inspected a total of 30 commercial motor vehicles and removed 9 of these vehicles from the road as a result of various mechanical defects and safety violations. These numbers indicate that 30 per cent of the trucks inspected were unsafe.

In addition, 52 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for various commercial motor vehicle violations under the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act, including insecure loads, improper tires, failing to produce inspection reports and various other documentation and equipment violations.
