Ontario's Transportation Enforcement Vehicles
The Mobile Truck Inspection Vehicle is one of the tools used by Ontario's Transportation Enforcement Officers. Each region is assigned one of these special vehicles which combines the functionality of a stationary Truck Inspection Station, with the portability of a patrol car. This vehicle is equipped with portable weigh scales allowing officers to go where building a static building is not viable. This vehicle is equipped with various communication equipment, such as fax, photocopier, printer and ports for cell phones and computers and satellite communications, as well as various radio equipment, fleet net radio/cb. This vehicle is equipped to handle all sorts of Ontario weather, and the inside is set up like an office. This vehicle can also double as an emergency command post in the eventuality of a civil emergency.
Ontario's Transportation Officers also operate special cruisers which contain special equipment to weigh and inspect all vehicles on the road today. All of Ontario's Transportation vehicles are equipped with the FleetNet radio system which keeps the officers in constant contact with the Ontario Provincial Police dispatch centre located in Orillia.
